Current State of Power: As the incarnation of sacred-poetry, sacred hymn and eloquence, she possesses the ability to inspire great works of religious zeal and beautiful speech. Mortal Name/Alias: Shiri Eneas Mortal Age: 26 Mortal Birthday: 10/1 Appearance: (physical description, how they dress, etc) She stands 5’6” , 133 lbs with a willowy build and long flowing hair. This was always true about her. In the ancient times, her hair was red in color and her skin was a healthy sun-tanned even though she often wore long robes. Her eyes were always the brightest green, like that of emeralds. That is not the case anymore. Her hair and skin are a stark white and her eyes are pink. Only when she is actively inspiring someone do her eyes change and that is only to a mild bluish gray. If someone looked carefully there is a scar across her throat healed over time and faded. She likes clothes that are long on her legs and loose, often flowing skirts and dresses and she enjoys bright colors against her pale skin – especially after years of wearing black. More often than not, she prefers her hair covered but knows that covering up in this city would only bring more attention to herself so does not in Miami, unless she is home. She had enjoyed inspiring the Greek masses, relaxing with her sisters and more or less doing whatever Apollo wished, but like all good things it had to come to an end. Her first mistake was making that last visit to Mt. Olympus – it was the day of the Fall. The mountain crumbled underfoot and she became trapped in the escape. The angels with their flaming swords captured her realizing who she was and what trouble she could cause. She remembered being grabbed by either arm and a great light blinding her for a moment. Trembling, she was terrified and did not wish to die, or worse. That was when her hair and skin went white and her eyes went pink – she had seen the face of G-d, the new ruler and lived. She did not hear what He said but one of the angels took his sword and brought it across her throat – before it connected though she whispered the words, “Spare me. I’ll serve.” The wound was healed and her voice restored, but the scar remained as a constant reminder. She was escorted away from the former home of the gods and sent to spread the praise of the new ruler of the world. True to her word, she went out an inspired Ephrem of Syria as his consort from 339-337. She struck again with Emperor Justinian I in 553. Something drew her south and eventually she found herself in the arms of an Ethiopian man named Bilah ibn Ribah. It worked out for her as she was able to inspire him to sing the now traditional call to Muslim prayer, the Adhan, in 630, and created the art of Nasheed, to get around the Islamic rules against music – a concept that disgusted her, prayer without song. She returned to Europe around 800 to encourage Charlemagne to introduce a similar form of religious song to Europe – the Gregorian Chant and it worked splendidly. She remained in Europe until she got a wicked idea. She had sworn to serve, but she said nothing about encouraging the different servants of this god to fight to the death. In 1096 she encouraged the First of the Crusades and went back and forth between forces to encourage the continued fighting until 1272. Until the 1760s, she laid low, unsure whether the new god would care about this mean trick, but nothing befell her. In 1760, she moved to American and traveled with Philp Ebury to encourage American Methodism, and remained with the church – though did take a short sabbatical in 1825 to visit Franz Schubert and inspire “Ave Maria”. The last bit of inspiration she left in America was after a fling with Norman Greenbaum in 1969, inspiring “Spirit in the Sky”. Her viscous, vengeance nature, possibly a poor trait she took from Apollo and combined with being a muse, came to a head and a year after the Summer of Peace and Love, she left America and returned to the Middle East. Less than two years had passed since the decisive victory of Israel in the Six Day War and the utter confusion of the Muslim Countries around and she had an idea. She was going to do her favorite trick again and turn the children of the book against each other once more. She moved to the Middle East, using Nasheed songs to inspire the fight against the Infidel with giddiness in her heart. Eventually, in the late 70s she settled in Afghanistan and caused her conflict there. However, the last few years, she felt a pull to return to the States. Perhaps, it was to stir the trouble up on the other side of the fence or perhaps it was something else… like an instinct leading her back to her sisters. She has recently moved to Miami and enrolled in the University of Miami as an incoming Freshman, with a nice single room to herself. She has gotten a job as a part time yoga instructor, which she finds very easy as yoga is just religious praise all on its own. Personality: She delights in strong emotion and is never happier than when the emotions are at their highest point, even if they are negative and even if those negative feelings are her own. Maybe this is how she has dealt with the explicit knowledge that she has betrayed everyone she has ever loved in the last two thousand years by spreading the worship of the Christian god. That anguish makes her just as happy as any other emotion and it is an emotion she can channel into her hymns. Her greatest joy, besides basking in Apollo’s presence, is to hear the songs of worship sung – in spite of herself, even though they are to a god who almost made her mute. She lacks a conscience, feeling nothing for the misery of mortals or their plight anymore than a person would feel for a musical instrument. They are fleeting and interchangeable. The only thing that plagues her memory is her betrayal due to her fear so many years ago and due to this she will not speak more than a whisper before her sisters, and keep her head bowed to those gods her songs have weakened. She fears meeting Apollo again, but whatever he wished to do to her – even flay and kill her she would accept. She doesn’t fear death by his hand because his word is absolute to her. This being said, she is a very happy person – moving from topic to topic quickly if they are upsetting unless she needs to dwell in that emotion to encourage a new hymn.
